Drama High Much?

Everyone knows that there is just way too much drama in high school. The question though is why? The simple answer is there are too many people constantly talking about all of the drama that occurs. Within a single class the same story will be told to twenty people differently, and when they reiterate it to one of their friends it’s told to yet another twenty people in twenty different ways. Every time the story is told it is drastically changed due to how someone interprets it and how it was told to them in the first place.

By the time that the story has been spread throughout the entire school, it has become about people who weren’t even initially involved. To make matters worse, it’s generally the people who are not involved are the one’s who are tripping out over it the most. Every day teenagers gather and continue to talk about the drama. The buzzing of gossip continues on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and through texting.

It’s obnoxious for people to constantly to talk about the drama, especially when it’s the only thing they talk about. It’s in every circle, but it depends on the circle as to how much they talk of the drama. There are people, primarily females, who do nothing but talk about the drama in others lives and insult the surrounding people, yet they would go off if so much as one word were said about them.

Some students in this building pay more attention to the drama and gossip then they do to their classes. Students who are failing classes would be able to tell you who has beef with whom, why, and when it started. Teenagers pay more attention to the current gossip, which is not going to matter in five months, than they do to their educations, which will affect the rest of their lives.

Can anyone give me an intelligent reason as to why it should matter to anyone of us what is being said about us if it is not true? Perhaps someone could tell me why any individual would purposely keep themselves in the middle of stress, because that’s all drama and gossip cause. Maybe the question that should be asked is why are teenagers keeping such non-sense going or even starting it in the first place?
